Palmer's Home Care equips, educates, and empowers individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to live full, meaningful lives across Mid-Missouri. Everything we do is built on one belief: people with disabilities deserve the same rights, opportunities, and quality of life as their neighbors — and the right support makes that possible.
To equip, educate, and empower individuals with disabilities to live unique, healthy, and fulfilling lives in their homes and communities.
We believe people with disabilities are no different from anyone else. They share the same hopes, dreams, desires, and frustrations as their neighbors — and they deserve the same human rights. At Palmer's Home Care, we walk alongside individuals as they build independence, pursue meaningful relationships, and grow in self-reliance.
Palmer's Home Care was founded in Columbia, Missouri with a simple conviction: people with developmental disabilities deserve to live in homes of their own, in the community, surrounded by people who genuinely care.
That conviction still guides everything we do. Today, Palmer's Home Care provides residential support, community day programs, employment services, and staff training to individuals and families across Boone County, Randolph County, Cole County, and surrounding Mid-Missouri communities.
Every home we open, every staff member we hire, and every program we launch is guided by one question: Does this help the people we serve live better lives?
Our approach to support isn't institutional — it's intentional, personal, and built on genuine relationships.
Every individual we support lives in a home in the community, with no more than two residents per home — so each person has space, privacy, and genuine community around them.
Support is built around each person's own goals, preferences, and pace. Our staff partner with the individuals they serve — teaching and modeling skills that help them grow in independence and self-reliance.
A meaningful life happens in the community. Our residential, day, and employment supports are all designed to connect individuals with meaningful work, genuine friendships, and full participation in the places they call home.
